Fear That Consumer Representation May
Be Weakened!
The consultative document 'Developing Better Services'
was issued by the former Minister Bairbre de Brún in June 2002.
It outlines plans for changes to the arrangements for
acute hospitals and includes a proposal to replace the four Health and
Social Services Boards with a single regional authority.
In its response to this document the Council outlines
its fears that support for patients and service users may be weakened
in the planned re-organisation of the health and social services structures.
